Virat Kohli breaks Tendulkar’s record in white-ball cricket

Indian star batter Virat Kohli has achieved another major milestone by surpassing legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s world record. Kohli has now become the highest run-scorer in international white-ball cricket after his outstanding performance against Australia in Sydney, where he played a match-winning knock of 74 runs. So far, Virat Kohli has scored 14,255 runs in 305 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 4,188 runs in 125 T20 Internationals. With these numbers combined, Kohli’s total in white-ball cricket has reached 18,443 runs — the most by any batter in the world.

Before Kohli, this record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 18,426 runs in ODIs and 10 runs in his only T20 International, making a total of 18,436 runs in white-ball cricket. Kohli has now gone past him by just seven runs, creating a new world record.
Former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara stands third on the list with a total of 15,616 runs in ODIs and T20Is combined. Kohli’s consistency and passion for the game continue to make him one of the greatest batters of the modern era.

It is worth mentioning that while Kohli now holds the record for the most runs in white-ball cricket overall, Sachin Tendulkar still holds the record for the most runs in ODI cricket, with 18,426 runs in 463 matches. This is a historic moment in cricket as Virat Kohli breaks Tendulkar’s record in white-ball cricket.
